We’ll cut right to the chase. Are you looking for a Chevy dealer serving Tulsa and its surrounding towns and cities? At Bob Hart Chevrolet, we’re one of the most highly experienced dealerships in the area, providing our customers with popular Chevy vehicles daily for years now. If there’s one thing that Tulsa is, it’s busy. As one of the largest cities in the state, it’s not always a casual Sunday drive down the street, especially if you’re one to travel on the highways quite often. That’s why we’re bringing to you our top choices when it comes to driving in Tulsa, and these vehicles will offer you an exceptional value.

Starting with the 2022 Equinox, this SUV isn’t the cheapest one sold by Chevy, nor is it the priciest. What it is, however, is a fantastic value for the price. This year’s Equinox starts at an MSRP of around $25,000 and is available in four trim levels. The base trim known as the LS is here like many other Chevy vehicles, and this is followed by the LT, the RS, and then the Premier at the top, which is also reminiscent of other Chevy vehicles. The Malibu is a sedan that starts at around $23,000 for the same LS trim. The rest of the trim levels are reminiscent of the Equinox’s lineup. If you’re interested in used examples of these models, we recommend you shop for an Equinox at least from 2018 as it will be within the same generation as the current model. For the Malibu, it’s the 2016 model where you should start your search for many of the same features as the latest iteration.

Save Money Now and Later

What do we mean by saving money now and later? In addition to the Equinox and the Malibu being fairly priced in both the new and used markets, they’re exceptionally fuel-efficient and not too far apart in this regard. If you’re buying a new Equinox, you’ll have a turbocharged 1.5L I-4 with a 6-speed automatic transmission that creates 170 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque. This is the same turbocharged engine that you’ll find on various used models, including the 2018 Equinox.

Those in the used market are in luck because earlier Equinox models allowed for additional stronger powertrains that exceeded the base engine. Sticking with the turbocharged 1.5L I-4 isn’t bad, however, and this is because this SUV remains immensely fuel-efficient with EPA-estimated ratings averaging 26 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway. Drivers who may do occasional light towing can do so here with tempered expectations, but 1,500 lbs are still impressive for this engine nonetheless.

The Malibu is certainly interesting, and this is because it not only has a turbocharged 1.5L I-4 engine like the Equinox, but it has retained the more powerful engine we mentioned prior. That means the 2022 Malibu is more powerful in the end, but we’ll get to those numbers shortly. Although similarly sized, the turbocharged 1.5L I-4 inside of the Malibu produces 160 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, and this comes with a CVT instead. Ultimately what transmission you want will be up to personal preference as there are arguments to be made for CVTs, although you’ll likely hear more in favor of the traditional type of transmission. Because of this power reduction, it winds up being more fuel-efficient as a result, with EPA-estimated ratings of 29 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on the highway.

The more powerful engine that we alluded to earlier is a turbocharged 2.0L I-4 engine. Even if you go back a few years, you can still get this engine on used variants such as the 2016 Malibu, for example. This engine outperforms both of the base engines that we’ve discussed so far for both vehicles with a total of 250 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. What’ll also likely pique the interest of drivers is the 9-speed automatic transmission that it comes with. It’s worth mentioning that fuel efficiency remains stellar with this engine, gaining EPA-estimated ratings of 22 MPG city and 33 MPG highway.

Staying Safe

We believe that the Equinox and Malibu exceed in multiple ways, and like most Chevy vehicles, careful attention has been placed on its reliability and safety. Older models also receive a wide range of safety features, although you’ll also have to purchase higher-tier trims of the Malibu. There’s plenty of safety features that are available to implement in the Malibu, but one that comes standard is Teen Driver. For those who have teenagers living in the house, even if they still won’t be driving for a few more years, Teen Driver has overhauled how parents can teach their kids how to properly operate a vehicle. Even for the more experienced drivers, city traversal can be tricky, and Tulsa is no exception.

How does Teen Driver work? It has an assortment of abilities, and what we mean by that is the app on your phone can do most of the heavy lifting when it comes to limits that you want to set. Let’s say you don’t want your teenager listening to music at an ear-shattering and distracting volume level when driving, or even set speed limits so that they never go above the legal limit; the choice is yours. The system also has other limitations put in place to promote safer driving, like not allowing the driver to shift out of park if the seatbelts aren’t fastened.

All of the features that are available for the Malibu come standard on the Equinox. This is expected for an SUV as they’re more so marketed towards families rather than your average everyday commuter. Features that come standard will help your everyday commute better and safer, from IntelliBeam Auto High Beam Headlights to Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection to prevent collisions with people and vehicles. You’ll also receive a warning before any impact can occur, and this feature can easily save lives and should be implemented in every vehicle from now on. Additionally, for highway travel in Tulsa, your vehicle will also ensure that you’re always paying attention to your lane when driving and will navigate you back to the lane in some cases.

The time has come to buy a new car, so you finally take the initiative. Taking a trip to Bob Hart Chevrolet, your local Miami, OK Chevy dealer, will open up plenty of options for you to choose from. From affordable new Chevys to reliable used models, we have everything you could need and more. Read on to check out just a few of the many great options you’ll have for driving around Miami, OK.

New Vehicles to Consider

With slick road conditions being common in the Miami area, you want a vehicle that offers all-wheel drive if possible. All-wheel drive is a feature that can combat hydroplaning on wet roads and can prevent slippage in icy or snowy conditions. Having a higher ground clearance also helps when it comes to adverse weather, which points toward an SUV as a good fit for the weather we often experience. Chevy offers two SUVs at fairly low price points at entry level for 2022 models, with the sporty Trailblazer starting at $21,600 and the family-friendly Equinox starting at $25,800.*

Each of these SUVs is considered compact in the SUV segment, but both offer a surprisingly large amount of cargo space and offer all-wheel drive. If you plan to drive with passengers who will ride in the front, the Trailblazer may be the right fit. The rear seats are small and not suited to tall adults or teens for long drives, but small children will be comfortable enough. Fuel efficiency for the 2022 Trailblazer is fairly good at 29 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway, a benefit of its smaller size. This model is ideal for families as it comes standard with Chevy Safety Assist technology to prevent and mitigate accidents. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard, along with several other tech features.

For a slightly higher price, the Chevy Equinox offers a larger interior with more comfortable rear seats that are better suited to taller adults or teens. The 2022 Equinox still gets fairly good fuel efficiency at 25 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway when it’s equipped with all-wheel drive, and it offers a total of 63.9 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded down. All trims come standard with Chevy Safety Assist technology, with features like forward collision alert with auto emergency braking and front pedestrian braking to keep you safe while you drive. A unique Chevy safety feature called Teen Driver is great for parents who have new drivers in the family because it allows you to set limits on speed and stereo volume, among other attributes to keep your teen driving safer when you aren’t in the car.

Buyers who would prefer to stick to a lower budget but still want a new vehicle may want to consider the Chevy Spark. For 2022 models, pricing begins at $13,600 for the entry-level trim.* Fuel efficiency is excellent for this compact hatchback at 30 MPG in the city and 38 MPG on the highway, and it still offers a large amount of space for cargo with up to 27.2 cubic feet of space with the rear seats folded. It doesn’t come with all-wheel drive, but it does come standard with stability and traction control and all-season tires. As a hatchback, the Spark has a good ground clearance of about 6.6 inches, which is better than most average sedans. Though the back seat is suited best for small children, this car is ideal for commuting, especially if you often drive alone.

Even though it might seem like a sports car is out of your reach, you might be pleasantly surprised to learn a 2022 Chevy Camaro starts at only $25,000.* Owning a sports car may seem like a bad idea when contending with slippery roads, but Chevy offers snow and ice mode for the Camaro as a standard feature, and the wheels can be fitted with all-season or snow tires for better traction in slippery weather. Seating accommodates four passengers with a back seat that will be better for smaller children, and the trunk space is relatively small at 9.1 cubic feet. Fuel efficiency is quite good for the entry-level four-cylinder engine that gets 22 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway, excellent for a powerful and exciting car to enjoy on your daily commute.

Used Vehicles for Miami OK

If you’re a savvy car buyer and you prefer to shop for a used vehicle, Chevy has a wide range of options for used vehicles that would be suited to driving in Miami. Though the Equinox is low-priced even for a new model, the Equinox also makes a great purchase used due to its reliability. Choosing a 2018 model can reduce the price to around $20,000, and this model year opens up the option of buying it as a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle. With a CPO, buyers have more protection with a factory warranty, roadside assistance, and an OnStar trial as part of the benefits you get with your purchase. Such a recent model will have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, though you may need to shop for a higher trim level if you want to find driver-assist safety features for this model year.

You might have a large family with the need for a lot of space in your vehicle, so an SUV like the Chevy Traverse could make a great choice with three rows of seats that accommodate up to eight passengers. As a midsize SUV, the Traverse will still be relatively easy to park, and it has the option of all-wheel drive for handling adverse driving conditions. Choosing a 2016 model year will bring the pricing into a comfortable range of $20,000 or less, and you may still be able to find one as a pre-owned vehicle if you like the benefits of the CPO program. Even for a larger size, the Traverse gets fairly good fuel efficiency of 16 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on the highway with all-wheel drive, and cargo space ranges up to 116.3 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.

Lots of folks need a good pickup for work, and a Chevy Silverado equipped with four-wheel drive can handle just about any weather conditions in Oklahoma. Trucks today are built to last, so you can search for a used Silverado that goes back even ten years and still expect to get more time out of it. When a truck has had regular maintenance and has been cared for by its previous owner, you should be able to drive it for over 200,000 miles. If you need your truck to double as a family vehicle, most models come with enough room for five passengers and plenty of space for tall teens or adults to sit in the rear of the cab. Expect to look for a 2013 or older if you want to find a truck for $20,000 or less.

It’s tough to make any generalizations about used cars. We’re good at convincing ourselves that newer is inherently better, that bias doesn’t always hold up very well in the real world. In truth, every car is only as good as its construction and design allow it to be, used or not. You don’t have to dig very far on the used car lot to find examples of reliable used vehicles still turning over the odometer well into their second decade or, in contrast, horror stories about fresh-off-the-lot new cars plagued by gremlins and well on their way to an early retirement.

Chevy has long been one of the country’s most reliable brands, with models regularly scoring in the top 10 of J.D. Power & Associates annual ratings over the last five years. That’s another advantage of the used market: giving a new vehicle a couple of years on the market to generate some real-world feedback could save you some headaches down the road and help you avoid the dreaded lemon. Offering some of the best used sedans and SUVs on the market, there are some real bargains to be had when shopping for used Chevys. Before you take a trip to your local used car lot, browse our rundown and learn a little more about some of the most popular – and reliable – used vehicles on offer from Chevrolet.

Chevy Cruze

Used Cruze in $10,000 range: 2011 – 2015
Used Cruze in $15,000 range: 2016 – 2019

Let’s start off with perhaps the best bargain of the bunch, the Chevy Cruze. The 2016 model, for example, had an MSRP of just $17,495 when it was initially introduced, making it one of the most affordable four-door sedans on the market. 2016 marked the introduction of the second-generation Cruze, which was designed to compete with the efficiency and price of rival Japanese brand’s compact offerings. The sedan quickly earned a respectable market share, proving that U.S. manufacturers like Chevrolet can beat the imports at their own game.

Given the price, one might expect the Cruze’s performance and interior to reflect its relative economy, but somehow Chevy managed to produce an affordable compact sedan that delivers well above expectations. The engine is one highlight, producing a peppy, fun ride while still managing some of the best fuel economy in its class. Some recent models boast up to 31 MPG city and an unheard of 48 MPG for highway driving. These impressive stats, along with the low price and inclusion of Chevy’s Teen Driver Technology on models produced in 2019, make the Cruze an ideal vehicle for new teen drivers. Parents will appreciate the safety and security offered by the industry-leading Teen Driver Technology, which allows them to set speed limits, warnings, and review a Driver Report Card, while the teens themselves will appreciate saving their hard-earned money at the pump.

Volt

J.D. Power Reliability Awards: 2011

If you’re really looking to save some cash, you couldn’t do much better than the one-two punch of a reliable used vehicle that’s also a hybrid. With all-electric vehicles steadily coming into the mainstream, their hybrid counterparts are more affordable than ever (check out the Bolt for an all-electric offering from Chevy). The Chevy hatchback was one of the more affordable hybrids on the market at the time of its release, so expect to find some good bargains on the used market with many first-generation models priced under $10k and second-generation Volts for under $15,000. This bargain isn’t a trade secret or anything. The 2011 Volt was named U.S. News & World Report’s best used hybrid under $15k, narrowly beating out… the 2012 Chevy Volt.

The Volt is a little more versatile than the average hybrid. It’s larger than typical hybrid vehicles, making it a more practical choice for families or those who need a little more interior space. The hybrid gas-electric setup gives the Volt an all-electric range of 35 miles on the first generation and 53 miles on the second, with the gas engine supplementing the electric motor on longer rides. This range might limit the Volt’s practicality for those who put in some serious miles, but those using the hatchback for shorter commutes or doing errands around town, it’s easy to avoid tapping your gas reserves altogether.

Equinox

J.D. Power Reliability Awards: 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018

A standout in the crossover SUV class, the Equinox has made some serious waves since its introduction in 2005. As the brand’s most compact SUV, the Equinox delivers the power and versatility drivers expect from the segment while not skimping on fuel efficiency. Each model year varies, but 2012 and 2013 are two of the highlights with an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 32 MPG on the highway. These SUVs keep getting better every year, with the second-generation (2010-17) Equinox featuring an available six-cylinder engine that introduced a fun, sporty ride for fans of the compact crossover,

There’s a lot packed into this compact SUV, with an interior that punches above its weight with an impressive slate of luxury features and tech. The Equinox is larger than many of its competitors in the compact crossover segment, which means plenty of interior room for up to five passengers and plenty of cargo. An ideal synthesis of power and efficiency, the Equinox is also one of the most reliable vehicles in Chevy’s lineup, if not the market as a whole. This hasn’t gone unnoticed by critics, with the Equinox earning the title of Most Dependable Compact SUV by J.D. Power and Associates for six years running. There’s perhaps no better seal of approval for a used vehicle, making the Equinox an instant contender for best value in its class.

Malibu

Used Equinox in $10,000 range: 2010 – 2015
Used Equinox in $15,000 range: 2016 – 2019

J.D. Power Reliability Awards: 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015

Representing the Chevy old guard, the Malibu has been one of the brand’s hallmark sedans since its introduction in 1964. Originally introduced as a trim level to the popular Chevrolet Chevelle, the sedan proved popular enough to break out as its own model in 1978. The Malibu has developed quite a following throughout the years, with 10 million units sold worldwide by 2016.

The mid-size sedan emphasizes comfort above all else, with a smooth ride that will have you looking for a slightly longer way home. The eighth-generation Malibu (2008 – 2015) is a great value for the price, offering one of the smoothest rides in its class, along with ample interior space and some impressive fuel efficiency. The 2014 model is of particular note, with a four-cylinder setup that can achieve up to 25 MPG city and 36 MPG highway – especially impressive for the era – and a V6 option for those who like to take things a little faster. That model year also saw a handsomely redesigned exterior, expanded interior space, and an overhauled suspension, making the 2014 Malibu a particularly intriguing option.

The ninth-generation Malibu, released in 2016, sees a 4-inch increase to the wheelbase and a slightly larger body modeled on Chevy’s popular Impala sedan. The result is a stately sedan with surprisingly good fuel economy, owing to Chevy shaving 300 pounds off the eight-generation models as well as the introduction of two new, highly-efficient 1.5-liter and 2-liter turbocharged engines. Teen Driver Mode is available on all ninth-generation Malibus, making this another ideal choice for parents looking to keep an eye on their fledgling driver’s habits. A hybrid version was also offered until 2020, giving those in the used market the opportunity for even more powertrain options.

Tahoe

Used Tahoe in $15,000 range: 2007 – 2012

J.D. Power Reliability Awards: 2014, 2017, 2018

The smaller of Chevy’s two full-size SUVs (the longer Suburban shares the same platform), the Tahoe combines the hauling capability of a truck with the comfort and family-friendly features that’s made SUVs so incredibly popular. We’re not being hyperbolic here; the Tahoe is far and away the country’s best-selling full-size SUV, outselling competing models by as much as two to one. In fact, the Tahoe’s only real competition comes from its full-size stablemate, the Suburban, giving Chevy bragging rights over the entire class.

The Tahoe delivers an unparalleled synthesis of power and refinement, making the SUV a no-brainer for families seeking a do-everything workhorse with the comfort and features to make for a peaceful ride. An eight-cylinder engine provides power in spades, while three rows of seats ensure enough passenger and cargo room for a long weekend on the road. The name on this full-size SUV can’t be a mistake as it’s all-too-easy to imagine packing up the family, hooking up the boat, and stopping for firewood before heading up to a lake for the weekend. Named as the best used large SUV under $30k by U.S. News & World Report, the Tahoe’s is a real value even before one factors in its impressive reliability scores. The Tahoe is a good bet for those seeking a dependable family SUV that won’t end up costing you down the road.

A maroon 2017 Chevy Silverado LTZ Z71 is shown driving down a road after visiting a used car dealer near you.

You need a truck. You want to buy used, but not old. While the fancy, stylish features on all of the newest models are really neat, you’re probably more concerned about functional space. Maybe you’re looking for a pickup to carry large cargo loads. Maybe you’re looking for an SUV to help make transportation more convenient for you and your family. Either way, what’s the point of buying a truck if it doesn’t give you the storage space you need? Before you find a used car dealer near you, let us help to educate you to make sure you have a road map as you navigate the world of used trucks. There are a lot of options, so we want to help you discover the used trucks with the most functional space.

Some of the vehicles here may surprise you, as Chevy’s functionality extends far beyond its trucks. You may find that your needs are better suited to an SUV, even a small SUV, than to a pickup truck. Regardless of which direction you go, Chevy is known for its generous cargo space, and we want to help you find the vehicle that works best for you. So, without further ado, here are some thoughts on the used trucks (and SUVs) with the most functional space.

2017 Silverado 1500

The 2017 Silverado 1500 came with an attractive new package called the High Desert, which was an innovator for pickup cargo storage. It provides two-sided storage bins due to its creatively-designed placement over the bed and is lockable with its three-piece cover. Additionally, the cargo riser can be raised or lowered, depending upon cargo needs. This won’t be your old, beaten-up pickup; it maintains a new, sleek look with its faded blue exterior, bronze trim, and an interior full of cocoa leather.

2019 Silverado 1500

The 2019 Silverado 1500 came with the Durabed and was once dubbed the “most functional bed of any pickup” in a press release from Chevy’s headquarters. The 2018 and 2019 Silverado boxes came in three sizes: short, standard, and long. The 2019 box sizes significantly improved upon those of 2018, with the short bed measuring in at 63 cubic feet (that’s the short box), standard at 72 cubic feet, and long at 89 cubic feet. This spacious bed is also incredibly strong.

The vehicle has the potential for up to 21 tie-downs, 12 being fixed with a strength of up to 500 pounds, and nine moveable. That’s a good pickup bed. While a 2019 model is by no means old, it will lose some of its value as we head into the 2022 model year, meaning potential lower prices for you.

2020 Suburban

The Suburban has always been a leader in the SUV market. The good news is that it is even bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. The 2020 Suburban is one of the best non-pickup vehicles for storage space.

The EPA passenger volume of 122.4 cubic feet provides a spacious interior and a comfortable ride for all seven potential passengers. If you have fewer passengers and need to do some seat folding to accommodate your cargo, the vehicle is able to offer up to 121.7 cubic feet of cargo capacity. Between the 60/40 folding rear seats and the folding second-row seats, the Suburban is well-equipped to carry large loads.

In addition to its interior cargo space, the 2020 Suburban has a towing capacity of up to 8,300 pounds with the 5.3 L engine and the NHT Max Trailering package. Functionality is a top priority for the Suburban, and the 2020 model demonstrates this ideally.

A green kayak is shown in the trunk of a red 2021 Chevy Trailblazer ACTIV.

2021 Trailblazer

The Trailblazer? But that’s not a truck! You’re right; it’s not. But it is worth noting its functional space and cargo capacity because it can hold its own for a small SUV. With the 60/40-split rear seats folded, the Trailblazer reaches a cargo volume of 54.5 cubic feet and cargo length of 8.5 feet.

In addition to the 60/40-split rear seats, the Trailblazer also houses a flat-folding passenger seat. This allows for extra storage space and the potential for long, sizable items stretching from the rear trunk space to the passenger seat. So, if you happened upon this article because you’re looking for a vehicle with good, functional space without wanting to deal with a pickup, then the Trailblazer may suit you well.

2021 All-New Tahoe

Both the Suburban and the Tahoe were taken through major renovations for the 2021 model year. But, since we’ve already talked about the 2020 Suburban, let’s take a look at the All-New Tahoe. The 2021 Tahoe offers sixty percent more cargo room than its 2020 predecessor, with a max cargo volume of 122.9 cubic feet. But, more important than your stuff, your passengers will have a more comfortable ride with an additional forty percent of legroom, adding 10 inches to bring in a sum total of 34.9 inches of third-row legroom. This is all made possible by a lower load floor, a 4.9-inch increase to the wheelbase, and a 6.7-inch increase in overall length.

While we’re on the topic of wheelbase, the increased functional space is not the only new and exciting thing about the 2021 Tahoe. Its longer wheelbase, combined with new chassis technology, makes for a new, smooth ride like never before in the Tahoe. With this new technology comes the options of the Air Ride Adaptive Suspension system and Magnetic Ride Control, which is not found anywhere other than Chevy. To give you a better idea of the benefits of this new suspension technology, let’s read what Chevy HQ has to say about it:

“Tahoe and Suburban’s new multilink independent rear suspension, which is composed of three lateral arms, a large longitudinal arm, coil springs, and a robust stabilizer bar, offers the ride sophistication and isolating characteristics typically associated with smaller vehicles, but scaled for the superior capability requirements of full-size SUVs.”

So, the All-New Tahoe will be a better experience all the way around, with its significant changes in both the engineering and the interior functional space. This one will be harder to find used, but maybe you’ll take it for a test drive and realize that a new model is worth the extra money for its features.

Trucks (and SUVs) Provide Perfect Functional Space

Functional space is important. Maybe you deny that claim and say, “I don’t need much space; it’s just me.” That may be true at the moment, but what happens when you decide it’s time to move? It’s time to go on a road trip? It’s time to start a family? Wouldn’t you rather be well-prepared for all of these possibilities.

Now, let us repeat: you don’t need to buy a pickup to have generous storage space. You also don’t need to be consistently hauling oversize loads to be in the market for generous functional space. Families will most likely need just as much storage space in a small SUV as a farmer will in a pickup, relatively speaking. Chevy’s small vehicles, like the Trailblazer, are there to provide for your packing and passenger needs.

To those who are in the market for a pickup or a larger SUV, we will say this: you need not buy a new vehicle to get the best functional space. As you can see from our selections above, vehicles such as the 2019 Silverado 1500 are still in their youth and provide premiere features without costing you as much as a brand-new, untouched vehicle.

When it comes to pre-owned luxury truck sales, there are a lot of options available. Not so long ago, finding a real luxury truck wasn’t easy, but today you can find well-equipped luxury trims from every major truck brand. However, this begs the question – which one is the best? While we always recommend taking used trucks for a test drive to see how it suits your taste, here is our opinion on the best current pre-owned luxury truck models to look for.

Remember that we are only looking at luxury today, which means we will be comparing the interiors of the top trim models from each of the major brands. While power and performance are indispensable in any truck, all of these models provide a solid foundation of capability under their numerous luxury features. This comparison is all about heated seats, premium sound systems, touchscreen infotainment, and other high-end features, not towing and payload.

6 – Chevy Silverado 1500 High Country (2019-2021)

8” Touchscreen
7-Speaker Bose Audio
10-Way Front Seats

Chevy has never been a leader when it comes to building luxury trucks, and the Silverado High Country trim is no exception. Although we love Chevy for its incredible power and affordable prices, the brand has always lived in the shadow of GMC when it comes to luxury interiors. However, if you are looking for a slightly upscale used truck that can handle hard work without breaking the bank, the Silverado High Country might just be what you are looking for.

Despite being billed as a luxury trim, the cab of the High Country doesn’t look all that different from that of the base Silverado. Although there are a handful of small wood grain panels, the interior is a sea of black plastic. The small single-panel sunroof is also somewhat disappointing compared to what other models offer. However, the power-adjustable leather seats are comfortable, and their heat and cool function work well to keep your body at the right temperature.

Chevy also did a good job with its infotainment system, and the 8” touchscreen is easy to use with logically laid out hard button controls. Steering column shifter and 4×4 controls are also out of the way, leaving plenty of space in the center console for storage, cupholders, and a wireless charging panel. While the Silverado High Country may lean more toward “truck” than “luxury,” it is not a bad option for drivers seeking a bit more comfort than what the average used pickup can offer.

5 – Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition (2020-2021)

8” Touchscreen
12 Speaker JBL Audio
12-way Driver’s Seat

The Toyota Tundra is well-known for being a reliable used truck that you can count on to last for years. However, when it comes to offering a luxurious cabin, the Tundra falls short. Toyota operates under the philosophy, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” – but while that has resulted in bullet-proof engines and exceptional reliability, it means that Toyota’s interior design and technology is usually a few years out of date, even in the top trims. While you will definitely be comfortable driving a used Tundra 1794 Edition, you might find yourself missing some features that are available in its competitors.

If you have your heart set on a Tundra, then we recommend looking for a used truck from 2020 or 2021. Although the Tundra has not seen a major refresh since 2015, the 2020 model saw the addition of a new infotainment system that finally included Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – a big step up from the older Toyota Entune system. However, you will still be limited to an 8” touchscreen with a small low-res screen and somewhat clunky hard buttons for climate control.

The rest of the cabin follows a similar pattern – solid, truck-like, but slightly dated. The tan leather seats and stitched leather soft-touch panels on the doors and dash create a comfortable ambiance for the 1794 Edition, but there is still lots of basic plastic, and the center console is rather small. The traditional gear shifter may be a welcome touch for some drivers, but when combined with the shiny fake wood grain trim and mostly analog instrument cluster, it contributes to the somewhat antiquated feel of the cabin.

4 – GMC Sierra 1500 Denali (2019-2021)

8” Touchscreen
7-Speaker Bose Audio
10-Way Front Seats

The GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado are two sides of the same coin. However, that doesn’t mean that they don’t each offer their own unique feel. While their performance is nearly identical, the Sierra Denali presents a more upscale appearance than the Silverado High Country. While many of the Denali’s trademark touches are found on the truck’s exterior – particularly its signature chrome mesh grille – the interior has its own differences from the Silverado.

In terms of the spec sheet, the Denali and the High Country are effectively the same truck. They both sport the same 10-way power front seats with heating and ventilation, an 8” touchscreen with a 7-speaker Bose sound system, and an 8” driver digital driver information center. This means that when shopping for a used truck if you like one of these two models, you will probably enjoy the other as well.

However, there are a few differences in feel. Stepping into the cab of the Sierra Denali, you will discover a more subdued and classic interior. Marbled wood grain patterns adorn the trim, while dark leather and bright chrome make for a luxurious contrast. Of course, the Denali is still more than capable as a work truck, even if the Sierra has slightly lower tow and payload ratings when compared to the Silverado.

3 – F-150 Limited (2018-2020)

8” Touchscreen
10-Speaker B&O Audio
10-Way Front Seats

The F-150 went through a full redesign in 2021 that substantially improved its luxury features. Unfortunately, those late model year trucks are still quite rare on the used market. Instead, you will mainly find the last model years of the previous generation. Although the Limited trim from these years is filled with reasonably comfortable features, it isn’t quite there as a true luxury truck.

When it comes to cabin design and creature comforts, the Limited is a more than solid choice. The two-pane panoramic sunroof is a great feature that is not found on many competitors, and the soft leather seats will make any drive comfortable. Ford also made decent use of soft-touch materials throughout the cabin, although there is still a good amount of plastics and the wood grain panels are small and oddly positioned.

However, the technology in the F-150 Limited is clearly from an older generation. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both present on an 8” touchscreen, but the SYNC 3 system is not the most responsive. The overall layout of the infotainment system and the matching digital driver’s screen is also not the cleanest. However, the 10-speaker B&O sound system is a nice touch that all but the most demanding audiophiles will be satisfied with.

2 – Nissan Titan Platinum Reserve (2020-2021)

9” Touchscreen
12-Speaker Fender Audio
8-Way Driver’s Seat

The Nissan Titan may not be the most popular full-size truck on the road, but since its 2020 refresh, it may just be the most under-appreciated luxury truck on the road. Step into the cab, and you will discover a comfortable and familiar blend of old-school luxury and modern convenience features. The combination of dark woodgrain and stitched leather steering wheel is a particularly nice touch that helps elevate the Platinum Reserve trim and give it a proper premium experience, but we also love the expansive panoramic sunroof that stretches over both rows of seats.

Nissan continues to use a column-mounted shifter in the Titan, freeing up space on the center console without resorting to a gimmick dial shifter – that shifter is also linked to a new 9-speed transmission for the 2020 model, offering smoother gear changes. The quilted leather seats are heated and cooled for comfort in all seasons, although the front passenger might be disappointed to find only 4-way power adjustability (the driver gets 8-way adjustability, which is still a bit less than some other models offer).

When it comes to tech integration, the Titan Platinum Reserve is solid, if not exceptional. A 9” touchscreen with Nissan’s easy-to-use software and built-in navigation, and there are a handful of USB-A and USB-C ports for phone charging. However, climate control and other features remain separate systems with basic buttons, creating a slightly messy and confusing dashboard layout. The backup and surround vision cameras are also not particularly high quality.

1 – Ram 1500 Limited (2019-2021)

12” Touchscreen
19-Speaker Harman Kardon Audio
12-Way Front Seats

When it comes to pure luxury trucks, it is difficult to compete with Ram. While the Ram 1500 may fall behind in some ways when it comes to work, it is nearly unbeatable when it comes to comfort. The top Limited trim is particularly well put together and includes many features that are simply unavailable in other used luxury trucks on the market. However, it exudes a more modern and tech-heavy atmosphere, which may not be what everyone is looking for in their next truck.

The centerpiece of the cabin is a simply massive 12” tablet-style touchscreen embedded in the dash. Paired with the intuitive Uconnect infotainment system and functional hard button controls, this screen was a gamechanger for the luxury pickup segment and forced all of Ram’s competitors to scramble to catch up. Today, the latest Ford, GM, and Toyota models all offer similar screens, but finding one of those fully-equipped 2022 models on the used market is going to be uncommon and expensive.

Other unique features of the Ram Limited include an expansive two-pane panoramic sunroof to let in the light, an incredible 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and reclining rear seats with best-in-class legroom. Ram didn’t overlook the traditional elements of a luxury truck either, and you will be greeted with plentiful stitched leather and other soft-touch materials when you open the door. However, the design screams sharp and modern – if you enjoy warm tones and woodgrain trim, then you should instead look for the Limited Longhorn trim.

A red 2022 Chevy Trailblazer RS is shown driving on a city street after visting a Pryor, OK Chevy Dealer.

There are just some things that an SUV or crossover model can do better than any other vehicle option. Space, practicality, and capability are three of those things. It’s safe to say that wander lusters and nature lovers everywhere need a reliable crossover model. When it’s time to get a vehicle that can carry you and your friends to and from music festivals or your family to nature parks and campgrounds, it’s time to purchase a Chevy. The great news is that Bob Hart Chevrolet, your Pryor, OK, Chevy dealer, has several great adventure-ready models for you.

Whether you’re looking for a small model with high fuel-economy ratings, a large model with great towing capacity, or something in between, Chevy has you covered. We’re excited to tell you all about three of Chevy’s newer crossover models: the Trailblazer, the Traverse, and the Tahoe. Whether you’re hitting the golf course, hauling a boat, or camping out at a music festival, there’s a new Chevy crossover that can handle all your favorite outdoor activities.

Why the 2022 Trailblazer Is Great for Concerts and Camping

It’s small, it’s fuel-efficient, and it’s spacious despite its compact size. The 2022 Chevy Trailblazer can balance a bit of everything. It’s perfect for heading out into the woods or for setting up camp in the fields, thanks to its all-wheel drive technology and multiple drive modes. Those who really plan on hitting the backroads can rely on the ACTIV trim’s off-road suspension and additional skid plates to keep them safe and slip-free.

Thanks to its 54.4 cubic feet of cargo volume, the new Trailblazer can act as your own personal tent. Simply fold down the seats and fully take advantage of this model’s cabin space. Or, pack up your camping chairs, coolers, and even your guitar. There’s plenty of room for you, your friends, and your belongings.

Wherever you go, you’ll never have to worry about running low on fuel in the 2022 Trailblazer, either. One tank will last you the whole weekend, even if you’re setting up at a festival or stationed at a campsite. This model gets up to 29 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway, so you can easily run back and forth to town without going broke.

The best part of it all is that you get to stay safe on your adventures. Chevy Safety Assist is now standard on 2022 Trailblazer models. This means you’ll get six different driver-assist features at no additional cost. When you want the reliability of a new model while staying within budget, check out the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer.

The 2022 Chevy Traverse: A Family-Friendly Adventure Mobile

Ready to hit the golf course while the rest of the family hits the pool? The 2022 Chevy Traverse is your model. It’s packed with space, seating up to eight people and offering 98.2 cubic feet of cargo capacity. You can easily haul your kids, your clubs, and a cooler or two without feeling smothered.

It’s easy for the kids to get in and out as well, thanks to Chevy’s Smart Sliding seats. Like the Trailblazer, this model is capable of tackling multiple terrains, but it’s even more powerful than its younger sibling. The Traverse comes with an “Off-Road Mode,” which adds some torque to make those bumpy, muddy roads passable. In addition to this, it includes a Tow/Haul mode as well, with up to a 5,000-pound towing capacity. Thanks to this, you can haul your own golf cart or take the pontoon boat to the lake with ease.

This model comes in seven different trims, so you can make it as luxurious as you want. However, lower trims such as the LT trim include everything you need for the adventure ahead. So, if you’re on a budget, check out the LT Cloth trim to get roof rails and fog lamps, among other fun perks. The main benefits of higher Traverse trims lie in additional convenience features such as heated seating and a sky roof. While not necessary, these trims are fun for safely star-watching out in the country. When you want the real nighttime experience without the risk of bears and mosquitoes, the High Country’s SkyScape sunroof and skylight combo are great for the whole family.

When it’s time for a local adventure, and there are more passengers than just you, your partner, and the dog, we highly recommend the 2022 Chevy Traverse.

The Master Tow Machine: The 2021 Chevy Tahoe

Tow + haul = Tahoe. So far, we’ve touched on tent camping in the Trailblazer, but when it’s time to break out the camper, you need something stronger. This is where the 2021 Chevy Tahoe comes in. This model can seat as many as nine people, and its cargo space bumps up to 122.9 cubic feet. There’s more than enough space for kids, their friends, pets, and cargo.

In addition to its large interior, this full-size SUV can tow as much as 8,300 pounds. Since campers weigh an average of 5,200 pounds, with many even lighter options, we suggest the 2021 Chevy Tahoe to families who like modern-day camping trips. And with up to nine different camera views, hooking up the trailer and towing safely has never been easier.

When you’re heading out of Pryor, and you need something to keep the kids entertained on the ride, the 10.2-inch infotainment system is there to save the day. It includes a Wi-Fi hotspot connection, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto audio streaming, and much more. The kids can stream their favorite podcasts and songs with ease. However, when you need a bit of a break, the rear-seat media systems will keep everyone entertained with games and movies. When your kids are curious about “how much longer” it’s going to take, simply share your navigation screen with them and let them follow along with the trip.

This model is a great option for those who need more space and tons of power. You can choose from six different trims and add on any safety feature you want.

Which One’s for Me?

Each of these models brings something unique to the table. The Trailblazer is incredibly fuel-efficient and lightweight, the Tahoe is a large tow-beast, and the Traverse is a nice balance between the two. When you’re single or living a minimalist lifestyle, your best bet is the Trailblazer. It’s easy to zip around in, and it’s great for both commutes and adventurous weekends.

The Traverse is your average-sized model that most small to medium-sized families like. It has enough towing capacity to pull a boat or a trailer of ATVs, but it’s not “too large” or “too powerful.” Conversely, the Tahoe is the most powerful option of all. It’s designed for those who have large families and who like “glamping.” The choice here is yours. Do you and your partner love to head out to music festivals and camp under the stars? Or do you have kids who complain about the heat and bugs but love roading hotdogs and s’mores over the campfire? No matter what adventure awaits you, any of these three Chevy models can take you there.

A dark blue 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 Centennial Edition is shown driving past a light blue 1972 C10 after visiting a used truck dealer.

2021 is in its last quarter. Can you believe it? As 2022 fast approaches, it’s a good time to reflect back on where we’ve been. Walk into any used truck dealership, and you’ll already find used 2021 vehicles and even more from 2020, 2019, 2018, and so on. 2018 was almost four years ago now, and a lot has happened since then. Not the least of these happenings was Chevy’s 100th birthday in 2018, which was celebrated with a very special centennial edition of the Silverado 1500. We want to look back over the past four years and remember some of the highlights, especially as regards trucks and SUVs. So, with that, here’s our pick for the best Chevy models of the last five years.

2018 Silverado 1500 – Centennial Edition

When Chevy blew out all 100 candles in 2018, they knew that it was better to give than to receive, so they gave us the Silverado 1500 Centennial Edition. The truck comes in three cab sizes: crew, regular, and double. Perhaps the most exciting thing about the Centennial Edition was the number of editions across five different trims – WT, LS, Custom, LT, and LTZ, and High Country. While all of these trims had been seen before, they now brought with them a multitude of editions.

The list, courtesy of Chevy’s pressroom, is long, so get ready:

  • Black Out Edition – available on WT
  • Special Ops Edition – available on WT
  • Rally 1 Edition – offered on Custom
  • Rally 2 Edition – offered on LT Z71 (2LT) with double cab or crew cab
  • Redline Edition – offered on LT Z71 (2LT) All Star with double cab and LTZ Z71 (2LZ) with crew cab
  • Midnight Edition – offered on LT Z71 (2LT) All Star with double cab and LTZ Z71 (2LZ) with crew cab
  • Realtree Edition – offered on LTZ Z71 (2LZ)
  • High Desert Package – offered on LT, LTZ and High Country
  • Z71 Package – offered on LT and LTZ
  • All Star Edition – offered on LT

Omitted from this list is the Texas edition, which was offered on LT and LTZ but was only available in the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and of course, Texas. The Centennial Edition also offered HID headlamps with LED lighting or LED projector headlamps on certain trims. That was a good birthday.

2019 Silverado 1500

Interestingly enough, while the 2018 Centennial Edition brought some new trim editions and the novelty of having the Birthday Model (if you will), the really exciting updates came to the Silverado in 2019, as it went through a major-league makeover.

With the makeover came all-new trims:

  • The Work Truck trim is primarily focused on style, notably displaying the “CHEVROLET” name across the grille and the tailgate.
  • Custom Trail Boss builds upon the Custom but amps it up for a dynamic off-road experience.
  • The LT focuses on style with both its interior and exterior features, including LED reflector headlamps and an 8-inch touchscreen.
  • The RST trim expands upon the LT by providing a street-performance vehicle with up to 22-inch wheels.
  • The LTZ trim offers a stylish design with chrome accents all throughout the exterior and leather interior. A benefit of the LTZ is the power-folding, heated outside rearview mirrors. So, no more foggy mirrors!
  • The High Country trim has its own exclusive grille design and includes a power tailgate.

With the makeover came a 450-pound reduction to the vehicle, making it more mobile than ever. Speaking of mobility, the 2019 edition introduced six engine and transmission combinations to provide a customized driving experience ready to suit a variety of needs. Buyers of new vehicles could choose from the 4.3-L V-6 (six-speed automatic), 5.3L V-8 (six-speed automatic), 2.7L turbo I-4 (eight-speed automatic), 5.3L V-8 (eight-speed automatic), 6.2L V-8 (10-speed automatic), all of which offer Fuel Management, either Active or Dynamic. Additionally, the 3.0L I-6 turbo-diesel offers 10-speed automatic transmission.

The 2019 Silverado 1500 comes with an optional Z71 Off-Road Equipment package on all models. The package includes Rancho monotube shocks, Electronic Hill Descent Control, a two-speed transfer case, locking rear differential, front skid plates, and heavy-duty air cleaner. Hey, 2019 wasn’t that long ago. This truck is certainly not old.

A close up shows the red Brembo caliper and alloy wheel on a 2020 Chevy Suburban RST.

2020 Suburban

The 2020 Suburban maintains the signature, durable Suburban stance and all of the best features but rolls in with one of the smoothest rides you’ll experience in a truck anywhere. Offering up to 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque combined with excellent shock absorption, the 2020 Suburban provides a ride that is exciting, smooth, and safe.

Part of what makes the 2020 Suburban such a smooth and enjoyable ride is the steering and the pedals. The electric power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering makes for a steering wheel that is sensitive when it needs to be, but not so much so that the slightest touch will send you veering. Combine this with the power-adjustable pedals available on the LT, Premier, and LS trims, and you’re in for a smooth, controlled ride. The steering wheel and pedals are almost shockingly smooth compared to most other vehicles, so it may take some getting used to, but it will be a treat for you.

If you anticipate driving the family, then the Suburban offers that which most pickups do not: 7 or 8-passenger capacity with a passenger volume of 122.4 cubic feet. If you’re looking to get the kids in the car for a road trip, there is the option of two video screens (one for the second row, one for the third) attached to the ceiling in addition to the normal 8-inch infotainment touchscreen (standard on LS and LT).

If this is a car that will grow with the kids – one which they may someday be driving – parents will be thrilled to hear about the Teen Driver feature, which provides an in-vehicle report of teen’s driving habits based upon controls set by the parents. They won’t be getting away with anything if you use this feature!

2021 Colorado

Is it just us, or does the Chevy Colorado seem underappreciated? It seems to live in the shadow of its brother, the Silverado. While it is a slightly smaller pickup than the Silverado, the Colorado has its own skill-set, and a new 2021 Colorado has an MSRP of $4,000 less than a new 2021 Chevy Silverado, meaning that a used vehicle will come in at an even lower price.

The 2021 Colorado made advancements primarily in the realm of style, with a new grille giving the Colorado a more youthful, athletic appearance. The addition of 17-inch wheels, a chrome package, and new exterior color options all served to help the Colorado take on a more mobile appearance than the Silverado. The vehicle’s Crush (orange) color option particularly showcases its stylish features. The Colorado could be a good place to start for anyone looking to ease their way into larger pickups.

A red 2021 Chevy Colorado ZR2 os shown driving down an empty road.

2021 Silverado

The M.O. of the 2021 Silverado is towing. With the addition of a Multi-Flex tailgate and overall increased trailering capability of up to 13,300 pounds (yes, you read that correctly) with the right configuration, the 2021 Silverado strives to make towing less of a hassle for you.

Now, you may be wondering how one is supposed to drive safely, smoothly, and effectively while towing up to 13,300 pounds. Well, the 2021 Silverado has increased its camera trailering features to provide up to 15 possible camera views to work around your trailer. These views include hitch view, transparent trailer, rear trailer view, and even inside trailer view. Big trailers are no problem for the 2021 Silverado 1500.

Put it to Use

It’s amazing how many truck drivers never make use of all of the potential their vehicle has to offer. A lot of people find their groove and use the features that make everyday life convenient. While this is to be expected, the trucks we’ve pointed out here are all dynamic vehicles that provide for a variety of experiences and ample opportunity to play. So, find a buddy and go have fun with your used Chevy truck!

A close up shows the 2023 Chevy Silverado EV logo with a blue 'E', an upcoming electric vehicle at a Chevy dealer near you.

Chevy has been gradually dropping tidbits of news about its upcoming production of the future of the Silverado, scheduled to be built at Factory Zero in Michigan for 2023. GM retooled its old Detroit-Hamtramck plant in 2020 to serve as one of its new manufacturing plants for electric vehicles, starting with the exciting release of the GM Hummer EV this year. Soon buyers will be able to search “Chevy dealer near me” to find a Silverado EV built in the same plant, potentially on the same platform as the Hummer EV.

Though electric vehicles currently only make up about three percent of the vehicles on the road today, sales are beginning to pick up as EVs become more common and more affordable. In fact, EV sales have risen at a rate of five times that of gas-powered vehicles, according to reports in the second quarter of 2021, with fully electric vehicles also outstripping sales of hybrids in the US. Car manufacturers like GM are getting competitive about delivering affordable EVs with better driving range, powerful capability, and faster charging times. What news has been leaked about the future Silverado EV seems to confirm this will be true of Chevy’s upcoming fully electric truck.

Affordable Pricing With Corporations Going Electric

Trucks are often purchased as fleet vehicles, and truck manufacturers like Chevy expect to produce basic work truck trim levels to keep pricing low. This could mean entry-level pricing could start as low as $40,000 to $50,000, and Chevy will be directly competing with the Ford Lighting, which is priced around $40,000. As sales increase for EVs and demand goes up, pricing should become more affordable for everyone who wants to own a fully electric vehicle built using more sustainable manufacturing.

GM CEO Mary Barra has commented in the past about the intention to provide affordable EVs across a wide range of pricing to make purchasing more attainable for all buyers. Barra stated in a recent interview with Green Car Reports that “the initial interest has been overwhelming, especially from commercial and government customers,” when asked about the Silverado EV. Several large companies such as Amazon, Ikea, and FedEx are joining the ranks of corporations switching their fleets to using fully electric vehicles for transport as part of a global initiative to reduce carbon emissions, a change that will only help sustain EV production and lower pricing for individual buyers.

A close up shows the taillight on a 2021 GMC Hummer EV.

Projected Features and Styling

Chevy recently released a video of a Silverado EV prototype that featured what Chevy calls “four-wheel steering,” a feature similar to the crab-walking capability of the new 2021 Hummer EV. The rear axle will have a turning capability like the front axle, which will tighten the turning radius and make parking and maneuvering in tight spaces much easier. Chevy states on their website that this feature should also improve handling and stability, and the new Silverado EV is expected to ride on large 24-inch wheels, which should also improve capability.

Because the Silverado EV will be sharing a platform and production facility with the Hummer EV, the expectation is that the future truck will be produced with several electric motor options for a range of capability and power. Up to 1,000 horsepower could be produced by a combination of motors in a future Silverado EV, which would make it far more powerful than any gas-powered truck available today. Having dual motors, one for each axle, is likely to be an option to power all-wheel drive and to offer the available four-wheel steering. Triple motors could be a possibility for more power to assist off-road and trailering set-ups, but a single motor powertrain might make the Silverado EV more affordable for buyers willing to drive a light-duty version.

Sneak peeks of the Silverado EV were revealed in 2020 during a press release about the prototype being developed, and critics agreed that echoes of the Chevy Avalanche were seen in the new truck design. The grille of the prototype was visible in photo footage, showing the blocked chrome backing that no longer needs to allow airflow to the engine, creating a more aerodynamic front end that will make the battery life last longer with less wind drag. Other features buyers can expect are likely to be drawn from the Hummer EV in terms of tech and capability, though the Silverado EV will be less futuristic and more like the familiar truck we already know and love.

Driving Range and Battery Platform

Built with the new Ultium batteries developed by GM, the new Silverado EV can be expected to have a driving range as high as 400 miles when it comes with its largest battery pack of up to 200 kWh. GM is continuing to work on improving the Ultium battery to make it more powerful and offer longer driving ranges, and costs are projected to be lowered by having the batteries manufactured in the US with lower-cost materials that are more sustainable.

When the Silverado EV is built, Ultium batteries will serve as part of the vehicle’s stability. Weight from the battery packs will be placed low in the truck’s frame, which will give the Silverado EV a low center of gravity. This will lend itself to excellent capability for off-roading with increased stability from the weight being low; a choice also made in the Hummer EV. In line with battery placement, the Silverado EV will share the “skateboard” platform used in the Hummer EV, which will support the body-on-frame build.

Unlike the gas-powered Silverado, the Silverado EV won’t have a rumbling engine; instead, it will be virtually silent thanks to the quiet nature of the electric motors that will power the truck. Though enthusiasts of diesel and gas-powered trucks may miss that satisfying bass note when hitting the accelerator, the almost silent functioning of the electric motor means your truck can now be stealthy. Such a feature will be attractive for buyers who use their trucks for hunting or who want to off-road and capture sights of animals while trail riding. Without the noise of a traditional gas-powered engine, animals are less likely to hear you coming while you creep through the backcountry.

A worker is shown on the assembly line with EV batteries.

Charging Into the Future

The future Silverado EV is part of GM’s plan to build vehicles that lend themselves to a future with “zero crashes, zero emissions, and zero congestion.” Technology that takes the Silverado into a space that improves trailering, performance off the road, and makes driving safer is part of the future of electric vehicles. With the electric power, connectivity and function are part of the full package of what comes with driving a zero-emissions vehicle.

At this time, Chevy is making every effort to bring EVs to as many buyers as possible, including paying for the installation of Level 2 chargers at home. A Level 2 charging station lessens the time it takes to charge your battery fully, and those who purchase an EV will also have access to a nationwide charging network that offers Level 3 rapid charging that cuts the time down from hours to minutes.

Of course, GM continues to innovate along with the rest of the EV manufacturers to consistently improve the experience of owning a fully electric vehicle. By the time the Silverado EV is released, any number of innovations could emerge to completely change the game for EV ownership to make it more attainable, convenient, and powerful than ever. Mary Barra said in a recent interview that a sneak peek of the Silverado EV exceeded expectations for “pickup capability, innovative storage, and strong value.” This is the future of the Chevy Silverado.
